Bonnie Scotland is once again offering its popular Drive It Home campaign, a year-long series of special deals and promotions designed to keep golfers coming back to the birthplace of the game.

One highlight is a one-night, one-round of golf package (including breakfast) for two at the Fairmont St. Andrews, a large North American-style luxury hotel on the outskirts of the Auld Grey Toon. The property offers two cliff-top championship courses, the Torrance and the Kittocks, both affording spectacular views of the medieval spires of St. Andrews across the rumpled fairways and the bay. From May to December, the cost is $633; $316 from November 1.

Also of special interest is a one-night, two-round package (including breakfast) offered by the 83-room Macdonald Marine Hotel and Spa, a property on Scotland’s east coast renowned for its Victorian architecture. No fewer than 20 courses are found nearby. The $316 per person offer includes rounds on North Berwick (West Links) and Gullane No. 1, two world-famous links.
