Every well-travelled golfer has to visit Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge at least once.

The Rocky Mountain setting is as spectacular as you’ve heard, and the resort’s Stanley Thompson-designed golf course set the template for mountain courses around the world when it opened in 1926. (See “You May Also Be Interested In” below this article for more about the course and resort.)

The course usually closes for the season in mid-October. But there’s still time—as well as an excellent reason—to book a trip right now.

The second annual Jasper Fall Classic (Sept. 8-10) is billed as “the reincarnation” of the legendary Totem Pole Golf Tournament played at JPL each September through the 1930s and 1940s. Bing Crosby won the tourney in 1947.

Participation in the Jasper Fall Classic includes two nights accommodation at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, daily breakfast, two rounds of tournament golf (cart, club storage, and range balls included), private BBQ dinner, prizes, gratuities, and more. Rates start from CAD$649 per person for two nights, based on double occupancy. Tournament-only rates start from CAD$389 per person.
