Dreaming of la dolce vita in sunny Tuscany?
Golfers staying at Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, rated the No. 1 Hotel in the World in 2022 by Travel + Leisure, enjoy access to the nearby Club at Castiglion del Bosco, Italy’s only private golf club.
The 18-hole layout numbers among the finest private courses in Europe and is the only design by the late Tom Weiskopf found on the Continent. The 1973 Open champion followed the contours of the estate’s rolling hills and valleys in his layout, making the most of the wide views across the Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO protected landscape.
The hilltop five-star Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, meanwhile, is a 5,000-acre, 800-year-old Tuscan estate near the village of Montaicino. The resort offers 42 suites, each with antique furnishings and artisanal accessories. As well, there are 11 luxury Tuscan villas built from restored 17th- and 18th-century farmhouses. These private homes feature heated pools, terraces, pergolas and gardens.
Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco is renowned for its 62 hectares of organic-certified vineyards. Producer of the sought-after Brunello di Montalcino wines, the estate was named one of the top ten wineries to visit in Tuscany by Decanter magazine.
Probably the best way for golfers to access all of this is by booking the Tuscan Golf Experience, a package deal that includes a stay for two in the hotel and two rounds of golf (reserved tee times are offered from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.). Prices start from €1,870 per day on a half board, double occupancy basis.
But then, can you really put a price tag on la dolce vita?
