Beat the crowds and start planning your once-in-a-lifetime trip to the 2014 Ryder Cup at Scotland’s famed Gleneagles. Here’s the lowdown on three PerryGolf packages, starting from $5,150 per golfer.
PerryGolf has a history of doing the Ryder Cup up right. Back in 1997, the UK-based travel packager shipped golfers to Spain’s Valderrama on the QE2, and offered après-match small-ship charters to the British Isles for rounds on some of the world’s greatest links.
For next September’s Ryder Cup at Gleneagles’ Jack Nicklaus-designed Centenary Course, PerryGolf is offering three five-night packages Sept. 24 to 29, each of which will operate from St. Andrews, home of the Old Course and sacred ground for every golfer. Accommodations are in the five-star Fairmont St. Andrews hotel, a large North American-style resort within sight of the Auld Grey Toon’s medieval spires.
Package One ($6,450 for both golfers and non-golfers) includes Ryder Cup admission for all three match days (Friday to Sunday), transfers to and from Gleneagles, green fee and starting time at Kingsbarns, complimentary golf at the Fairmont’s Kittocks Course, a welcome cocktail party and dinner, and airport transfers to and from Edinburgh Airport.
Package Two (golfers $5,950; non-golfers $5,475) includes Ryder Cup admission for two days (Friday and Sunday), as well as green fee and starting time for Kingbarns and the Fairmont’s Torrance Course.
Package Three (golfers $5,150; non-golfers $4,675) includes Ryder Cup admission for two days (Thursday’s final practice and Opening Ceremony; and Saturday), as well as green fee and starting time for Kingsbarns and the Torrance Course.
