Set in the high Sonoran foothills north of Scottsdale, The Boulders offers the Truly Canadian package deal for Snowbirds looking for luxurious adobe-style accommodations and desert golf on two acclaimed Jay Morrish-designed courses.
Famous Boulders Resort, set amid a Flintstones-like jumble of giant rock formations in the high Sonoran foothills north of Scottsdale, Arizona, is offering the Truly Canadian package deal through the winter. Included is luxury accommodation in a private casita, a $15 per adult daily breakfast credit, complimentary valet or self-parking, and a 20 percent discount at the property’s Golden Door Spa. Exclusive to residents of Canada, package rates start from $419 a night (double occupancy) January through April.
A Waldorf Astoria Resort, The Boulders features 160 adobe-style guest casitas, 60 one- two- and three-bedroom villas, six restaurants, eight tennis courts and two renowned Jay Morrish-designed courses.
Opened in 1984, the resort’s North and South courses helped launch Arizona’s desert golf boom of the 1980s. Especially memorable is the South, which plays through the most dramatic of the property’s 12-million-year-old rock formations.
Also offered at The Boulders is Fore at Four, a unique initiative certain to be copied by other golf resorts. Guests who don’t have time for a full round, or who are looking for something fun to do before dinner, can play four holes after 4 p.m. for just the cart fee of $28.
