Golf fans planning a trip to Bermuda for the PGA Grand Slam of Golf, October 22-24, can take advantage of a two-for-one pricing deal for daily tickets and three-day passes if they book ahead. One of the game’s premier annual exhibitions, the 36-hole showdown features the winners of the year’s major championships: Bubba Watson, Webb Simpson, Ernie Els, as well as former major champion Keegan Bradley (filling in for 2012 PGA Championship winner Rory McIlroy). Single-day tickets cost $20; a pass for all three days is $50. For ticket information, go to the PGA Grand Slam of Golf website.
The event is played at Port Royal Golf Course, a government-owned public course designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Sr. that opened for play in 1970 and completed a brilliant $13.7-million renovation in 2009.
Port Royal is routed along dramatic oceanside cliffs on Bermuda’s south shore. Especially memorable is the signature 16th, a wind-blown par three clinging to a cliff high above Whale Bay that has been cruelly stretched to a length of 235 yards from the back tee.
