Scottsdale is never lovelier than in the autumn when the sizzling summer heat gives way to balmy days ideal for golf. Check these stay-and-play deals from three of the Sonoran desert’s top resorts.

Scottsdale’s golf courses are always at their most inviting in autumn. The blistering Sonoran desert summer gives way to sunny and temperate days followed by cool nights. But best of all, Scottsdale’s leading golf resorts offer a variety of competitive stay-and-play packages ahead of the winter high season.

The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, home base for many of the PGA Tour pros during the Waste Management Phoenix Open in January, is featuring the Ultimate Golf Package, which includes overnight accommodation and one daily round of golf per room at any of the resort’s preferred golf partners, including TPC Scottsdale and Grayhawk Golf Club. The package includes a daily $50 per room food and beverage credit. Rates start from $229 (all figures in US dollars) per night.

The Scottsdale Princess is also a great spot to embrace the festive spirit. On Nov. 20, a tree-lighting ceremony will illuminate a four-storey tree that plays holiday songs. Also featured are a skating rink, visits from Santa, musical performances and illuminated holiday displays throughout the property.

At the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa, the Unlimited Golf for Two package combines luxurious accommodations with unlimited golf for two players on Kierland Golf Club’s 27-hole course. Offered till Dec. 31, package rates start from $429 per night.

Similarly, JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort and Spa’s Unlimited Golf Package offers guests overnight accommodation and all the golf they can handle on Camelback Golf Club’s two golf courses—including Scottsdale’s newest resort course, Ambiente. The package also includes unlimited used of the practice facility; 20 percent off purchases in the resort’s golf, spa and tennis retail shops; and breakfast each morning for one adult. Rates start from $209 per night based on double occupancy.
